Upcoming Event: Careers with Languages – Primary Schools
🌍 Inspire Young Learners Through Languages
We are delighted to invite you and your Year 5 and 6 pupils to the Solent Language Network’s Careers with Languages Event, taking place on Monday 5th October, from 12.30pm to 2.30pm at Admiral Lord Nelson School, Portsmouth.

This exciting and interactive afternoon is designed to inspire younger learners by introducing them to the world of languages and the many opportunities that language skills can unlock in the future. The event forms part of our wider Careers with Languages Fortnight (5th–16th October), celebrating how languages can open doors to global experiences, friendships and careers.

Throughout the afternoon, pupils will take part in a range of enjoyable and engaging activities, including:

🀝 Team-building icebreakers that encourage communication through languages
🎀 Inspirational talks promoting the value of language learning
🎬 Career videos featuring people who use languages in their jobs and students who have studied abroad
🌎 Interactive quiz exploring global cultures and traditions
🎨 Launch of a creative poster competition celebrating languages
πŸ‡―πŸ‡΅ Japanese Language and Culture Taster Session, offering a fun introduction to Japanese language and traditions
⚽ Futbol Lingo – Motivation Through Sport and Language, an exciting online workshop showing how languages can lead to opportunities in sport, media, travel and international business

Students are welcome to bring a packed lunch should they wish to eat before the session begins.

This event is free of charge, but places are limited. We encourage schools to book early to avoid disappointment.
